AMS MAINTENANCE: ROCK SEAL

Rock Seal is a two step process which combines the sealing qualities of a Chip Seal with the texture of a Slurry Seal. Rock Seal can be used on roads which exhibit moderate cracking, places where a Double Chip Seal would typically be selected, but where a smoother black finished surface is desired.

The cubical aggregate used for the High Performance Chip Seal allows for a high application rate of asphalt emulsion to effectively seal the surface which can be swept within 24 hours. The second application is a quick set slurry, which is used to fill in the voids between the cubical aggregate of the Chip Seal providing a durable, finished surface with an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
